Throwback to July 25 - 26, 2019
My little bro, Vince, was visiting from Pennsylvania for the month, so I decided to cook up something special. Him and I both have a thing for Japan, so I decided to attempt a ramen recipe; tonkotsu ramen in this case, which is a pork based ramen
I decided to tackle u/Ramen_Lord's 18 hour "Tonkotsu Ramen" (豚骨ラーメン) recipe from Reddit and it came out surprisingly well! The ramen eggs or Ajitsuke Tamago (味付け玉子) were very overdone and the Chinese char siu pork a bit burnt, but overall it was awesome.
I think It made the occasion really special because everyone pitched in and it took a considerable amount of time to make. The broth was done by 3 AM, and we prepared the ramen ASAP. This is probably the best dish I've made besides my karaage-don recipe (Japanese fried chicken on rice).
